Ferme Elixaia

Ten minutes from Saint Jean Pied de Port, on the road to the Iraty forest, the Elixaia farm welcomes you. In the valley of Hergarai, in the village of Lecumberry follow the Ossau-Iraty PDO signs of the Elixaia farm.

We propose visits of the farm. Producers of Ossau-Iraty PDO cheese, we process only the milk from our local breed of herd: the black-headed manex. The cheeses are made on the farm and matured for a minimum of 3 months. We work with our family and offer visits (by appointment) because in summer our ewes graze in summer pastures in Iraty. We propose and ensure the direct sale of our products. Also, we are present at the local producers' market in Saint Jean Pied de Port on Thursday mornings from June to October.
