Ferme Elizabea Saüt

We settled in Lacarry in 1992 with the help of GFAM LURRA (Groupement Foncier Agricole Mutuel).

Our 140 ewes of the Basque-Béarnaise breed graze all year round on the fifteen hectares of meadows. In winter, their feed is supplemented with fodder and cereals.

In the summer, we transhumate with our flock in the Aspe valley (Béarn) at an altitude of 1800 metres.

On the farm and in summer, the ewes are milked by hand and the production is done in a cauldron. The cheese is matured at least three months at home: the processed milk has the PDO Ossau-Iraty label.

We sell our products from our farmhouse Elizabea and at the collective point of sale in Trois Villes Gohetxea.
