Couteau Basque

The COUTEAU BASQUE cutlery shop is located at 26 rue des Basques, close to the Halles, in a pedestrian street that belongs to historic Bayonne and whose typical, peaceful charm of yesteryear is in keeping with our artisanal business.

We offer traditional Basque knives and shepherd's crooks. All our knives and sticks are handcrafted according to the rules of the art, in keeping with the Compagnonniques standards from which we originate. Knives and sticks are replicas of creations found engraved or drawn on archives. They are not inventions, but rather the PRESERVATION of the Basque cutlery heritage between the 12th and 20th centuries.
