With a guide accompanying you throughout the hike, you’ll explore a pristine environment where nature flourishes: spectacular landscapes, alpine flora, vulture and other raptor watching, the chance to spot chamois, and the opportunity to discover the wildlife that inhabits these high-altitude areas.

The route will take you to a secluded mountain pasture where a shepherdess lives throughout the summer season. She’ll welcome you to her home and give you a glimpse into her daily life: a tour of the cabin, a look at the cheese-curing room, and a tasting of farm-fresh cheeses made on-site.

As you talk with her, you’ll come to understand the rhythm of life in the summer pasture: the essential work of the herding dogs, the care given to the animals, the cheese-making process, and the importance of the local flora, which gives the summer pasture cheese its unique flavors.
