Pic des escaliers/ Eskaleta - Trail
Very beautiful viewpoint on Soule and the nearby Basse-Navarre, the panoramic views from the Escaliers and Arthanolatze peaks are immense, with on one side large, deep ravines and on the other, the great Iraty forest and the Orhi peak, the first 2000 m of the Pyrenean range.
The Escaliers peak offers a beautiful view of Soule and the nearby Basse-Navarre. As early as protohistory, the ancestors passed by here with their herds, as evidenced by a polisher used to sharpen stone axes. The path, on a wide ridge joining the Arthanolatze, offers spectacular views over deep ravines: on one side the immense Iraty forest and on the other the peak of Orhi, the first 2000 m of the Pyrenean chain. Starting in the Iraty-Soule forest, this magnificent hike should only be undertaken when the weather is good, as it would be a shame to miss such a spectacle of nature.
