Visite guidée de la chapelle du Sacré Coeur

The chapel of the Sacred Heart of Hasparren, or chapel of the Missionaries was built from 1928 to 1931.

This building of Art Deco, Byzantine and Basque style offers a particularly rich decoration, unique in the whole South-West: frescoes of 48 characters, magnificent stained glasses and immense mosaic of the famous Mauméjean brothers.

Classified as a Historic Monument since 2011, it is now the property of the Commune and has benefited since 2019 from a huge restoration project to be completed in 2023.

In 2021, it was awarded the Prix Pèlerin Patrimoine, presided over by the chief architect of Notre Dame de Paris.
