VIVA! is a true story. The story of a Spanish family caught up in the civil war and Franco?s dictatorship.

these two gifted artists tell two intertwined stories: if one hadn?t existed, would the other have happened? The first is that of the Spanish Civil War. The second is that of Pepe and Maria, Daniel?s grandparents. As Republicans, they managed to slip through the cracks of the repression and chose to stay in their country. But Pepe never recovered, and lost himself in alcohol and anger. VIVA! attempts to give voice to the forgotten Maria.
