Musique sacrée du monde
The CHOEUR ANIMA will perform a repertoire focusing on sacred music from around the world.
From Negro Spiritual to Russian Orthodox chants, from South Africa to Germany and France, this eclectic program will be accompanied at the keyboard by Jean-Christian HOURCASTAGNE.
Founded in 1996, the ANIMA choir is a fixture in the cultural life of the greater Palais region and the Pyrénées Atlantiques département, and has been directed since September 2025 by Léopold BOU-ALI ENGONE, a professional musician and opera singer. This mixed choir, whose repertoire is devoted to sacred and secular music, contemporary, classical and romantic, is made up of 40 choristers, and has distinguished itself in previous years with pieces such as Cherubini's "Requiem", Dan Forrest's "Requiem for the Living" and Ola Gjeilo's "Sunrise Mass".
