Le Temps d'Aimer la Danse - Mizel Théret - Hegoak (Création)

Mizel Théret, for whom each gesture sings a landscape, traces a singular and precious path within Basque dance. In this latest opus, dance and music dialogue between roots and personal compositions.

Inspired by pianist Elodie Baffalio?s album Mellodi, Hegoak explores the relationship between slowness and speed, amplitude and restraint. Each movement invests the sky, the earth and weightlessness. The figure of the bird, and the impossibility of taking flight, shape the body of the choreographer-performer in this solo. The arms tear or caress the air, in a pared-down gesture that seeks the essential. Hegoak is a metaphor for the human being: fragile and strong at the same time, balanced in a gentle poetic tug-of-war.
