Benjamin Millepied opens the festival with the world premiere of Summerland, his new ballet for Les Folies Bergères. Featuring the presence and magnetic voice of singer November Ultra, this exceptional opening plunges us into the sublime softness of sunsets and summer evenings.

A former director of the Paris Opera Ballet and prima ballerina with the New York City Ballet, Summerland draws its inspiration from this small Californian town bathed in light and memories. The heart of the piece is the intimate pop of November Ultra, winner of the Victoires de la Musique female revelation award, which awakens a luminous and profound dance. From solo to duo, from group to individual, the dancers reveal a community emerging before our very eyes. A refuge of tenderness and an invitation to the festival.
