In this second program, Martin Harriague invites us to an intimate, sacred ceremony, a choral work served up by the 14 dancers of the Ballet de l?Opéra Grand Avignon. Awen is a luminous offering that plunges us into the heart of his sensitive, chiselled writing, where dance is felt as much as it is seen.

Created for the chapel of the Palais des Papes, Awen summons all that shapes us, from the immense to the most personal. American composer Eric Whitacre?s music, The Sacred Veil, shines in this twelve-movement work exploring love, loss and the stubbornness of connection beyond absence. With a rare, luminous intensity, breath and gesture find deep incarnation here, where the flesh of voices meets that of bodies.
