Le Temps d'Aimer la Danse - Ballet de l’Opéra Grand Avignon - Direction Martin Harriague - Prométhée

Martin Harriague, a native of the region and future director of Ballet Biarritz, continues his exploration of the great figures of humanity, plunging into mythology to create a grandiose choreographic fresco of rare intensity.

With his trademark sacred fire, the choreographer takes on the figure of Prometheus, who dared to steal fire from the gods and offer it to mankind, an eternal symbol of transgression, transmission and knowledge. Beyond the ancient myth, this creation questions our present: what does it mean today to "steal fire", in a world where humans hold the power to create as much as to destroy? At the heart of this work, the grandiose music of Ludwig van Beethoven?s Creatures of Prometheus is augmented by a custom composition by Fabien Cali.
