Le printemps des cimetières - Rencontre "Espaces funéraires et sacrés"
Created by the Patrimoine Aurhalpin association, this national event celebrates funerary heritage and the little-known treasures of cemeteries. For its 10th anniversary, a varied program is on offer in over 70 départements. The Pays d?art et d?histoire des Pyrénées béarnaises is taking part for the first time, to help visitors discover an often little-known heritage and architecture.
An encounter with Gérard Blasco, based on texts by Christian Bobin and Luc Bérimont, reminds us that death has always been a major preoccupation of human societies. Taking a look back at the Neolithic period, marked by the first agropastoral communities, this intervention is based on the funerary remains of the Aspe and Ossau mountain pastures, erected over 5,000 years ago, offering another perspective on mountains, people and society.
