La raison du plus fou - Rousseau VS Diderot
Jean-Jacques Rousseau has just finished the book of his life: "Les Confessions". The first autobiography ever written. A work in which he settles accounts with his friend of twenty years, Denis Diderot. He comes to Paris to give public readings. The religious authorities were pleased, as they once again urged the king to imprison Diderot and ban his work: "L'Encyclopédie". An ungodly book, for the Church, since God is no longer at the center of creation.
One evening, Diderot comes to see Rousseau to ask him to stop criticizing, but Rousseau refuses because, in his opinion, sincerity is priceless. Diderot then proposes to challenge him to a game of chess. The winner will decide the fate of the other. A senseless game begins, in which anything goes to destabilize the opponent.
