In this show—a literary sprint brimming with unexpected twists—the Bruitquicourt theater company chooses to poke fun at William Shakespeare’s monumental work with one key word: derision—all while preserving the essence of the play with actual passages from Shakespeare woven throughout. They maintain the spirit of the work while infusing it with the lightness of a soap bubble. Four actors—that is, three HAMLETs and one narrator—join forces to reinvent theater by transforming this drama into an unconventional comedy. This production was a highlight of the Avignon Festival and has been performed in the most beautiful theaters, as well as internationally in places like Saint Petersburg and even London, right next to the “Master.”
