Fête des bergers

You're invited to the heights of Aussurucq, in Ahusquy.

This day is dedicated to the local tradition of pastoralism, to celebrate and honor an ancestral way of life. The day kicks off with an open-air mass, followed by an aperitif, a meal, a demonstration of Basque strength, a shepherd dog competition and traditional games (crowbar throwing, shepherdesses' race to the fountain, jumping, dancing and singing).
