Fête de l'espadrille
Maul%E9on is hosting its traditional espadrille festival with a program that’s as enticing as ever.
All day long: tastings and sales of regional products, demonstrations of espadrille-making and explanations by the shoemakers, meals, and musical entertainment:
- 10:30 a.m.: Mass of the Assumption sung by the Xiberoko Zohardia choir,
- 10:30 a.m.: Start of the 5-km espadrille walk - Start and finish at Place Jean Lougarot,
- 10:45 a.m.: Start of the 5-km espadrille race - Start and finish at Place Jean Lougarot,
- 11:00 a.m.: Bare-hand pelota game on the small fronton, with Souletine dances in between,
- 12:30 p.m.: The singers of Xiberoko Zohardia will entertain guests during the aperitif with Souletine songs and dances,
- 2:30 p.m.: Basque strength contest,
- 4:30 p.m.: Grand chistéra match,
- 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: The singers of Xiberoko Zohardia perform under the bandstand
