Festival le Temps d'Aimer la danse : Bezperan
Once again this year, the “Le temps d’aimer la danse” festival is taking place at the Ja-ala in Mauléon.
On a snowy winter night, during a vigil, men and women call out to the bees and implore the earth for renewal. In the Basque Country, the gods do not dwell in the sky, but beneath the earth. Performed by eight dancers from the Northern and Southern Basque Country and four musicians, Bezperan is more than just a show—it is a celebration of the bond between humanity and nature. Under the direction of Daniel San Pedro, the collective brings to life a work in which nature, memory, and rituals intertwine. A performance full of longing, imploring the earth to bring the world to life once more. Tickets available online or at the Basque Country Tourist Office.
