Exposition : Salies sur les rails

A journey through time along the tracks of history.

In 1884, the first train arrived in Salies-de-Béarn, marking the beginning of an economic, social, and tourism revolution for the “city of salt.” 100 years later, in 1989, the line closed permanently, giving way to a greenway now popular with walkers and cyclists.

Through the exhibition “Salies on the Rails,” the Friends of Old Salies and its Museum of Salt and Béarn Traditions invite you to relive this epicera—from the colossal construction projects to the lavish festivals of the Belle Époque, including the station’s key role in the development of the spa industry.

The Museum of Salt and Béarn Traditions is also open to visitors (admission fee applies).
