A traveling exhibition exploring the evolution of the Basque coastline.

With its traveling exhibition “Basque Coast: A Coast in Motion,” the Basque Country Community presents the evolution of the Basque coastline and its various uses.

Some of these changes are caused in particular by erosion and coastal flooding.

Every winter, storms and strong swells force local authorities to close access to the coastline and beaches.

Winter storms can also cause flooding that damages coastal infrastructure and erodes beaches.

In response to these hazards, the Basque Country Community Basque Country, in close collaboration with the municipalities, is implementing numerous measures to best manage and prevent the effects of coastal risks.
