Emeki : Festival musical Féminin
All-female bands will take the stage at the Urrugne Center during this festival;
4:00 p.m.: Julia Damestoy Perez. A singer and guitarist from the Basque Country, Julia takes us into her world, where
gentleness and intensity blend together. Her repertoire is varied, featuring covers in French, English,
Basque, and Spanish.
6:00 p.m.: Neskaranga. A txaranga is an ensemble composed of wind instruments (trumpets, saxophones,
trombones, tubas...) as well as percussion. Neskaranga is an all-female txaranga from
Bayonne.
8:00 p.m.: Ibawa. Winners of the Tremplin Corps et Graphie award as well as the Grand Prix de la Chorégraphie Émergente
at the Dominique Bagouet competition, the Ibawa collective created the show Gaua. Wearing
traditional skirts, they embody the figure of the sorgin to give voice to women’s bodies and
connect these stories to issues that remain relevant today.
