In the Basque language, “Mamu” means “big insect,” and “Mamuka” refers to a simple children’s game involving actions such as hiding and appearing. Here, Pantxika Telleria draws inspiration from the hidden world of the forest and its inhabitants. Alternating between root, plant, and insect, the dancing duo playfully explores ambiguity, drawing on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It confuses the senses to help us perceive nature differently.
A work that celebrates the fragility of nature by raising young audiences’ awareness of the natural spaces around us, so that they may learn to appreciate and care for them. Dancers: Joana Ouret and Jorge Calderon.
