From the Balkan steppes to the fjords of the North, from Georgian polyphony to the maqams of the East, Shashlika traces an invisible line that only music knows. Bulgarian songs, Ukrainian lullabies, Armenian laments, Scandinavian ballads... So many living memories, rearranged for women's voices and acoustic instruments. The human voice, the most ancient of presences, becomes again what it has always been: a bridge between peoples, between the living and the absent.
