Concert Jazz Swing Nouvelle Orléans
Jérome Gatius plays clarinet and soprano sax like Sidney Bechet and, like Louis Armstrong, he appears in a "hot five" quintet for this concert in Saint-Pée sur Nivelle.
Jérôme Gatius is one of the leading figures of New Orleans in France and even further afield (Switzerland, Germany, USA, where he has taken part in several festivals). But it's a more modern New Orleans than that of the 1920s that he will be defending in this concert. Marked as he is by Benny Goodman and Barney Bigard, he is also part of the swing heritage of the 1930s-40s. At the head of a quintet with trumpet, piano, bass and drums, as in bebop, he will play this concert.
Jérôme Gatius: Clarinet / Pascal Drapeau: Trumpet / Antoine gastinel: Drums / Jean-Xavier Herman: Double bass / Arnaud Labastie: Piano
