Choeurs basques d'hommes Nekez Ari

In 1972, in the heart of the province of Basse Navarre in the Basque Country, a few friends from the Saint Jean Pied de Port (Garazi) region, used to getting together and driven by the same passion for singing, created the group Nekez Ari. Their sole ambition: to sing traditional Basque songs. Without really believing in it, but also out of derision, they chose to call their group "Nekez Ari", which in Basque means "without pretension" or "with difficulty".

Today, Nekez Ari has 22 singers under the direction of choirmaster Ekaitz Costa. Despite the passage of time, the Nekez Ari group remains true to its ideals: *To sing in the tradition handed down by past generations: *To show that today?s Basque people continue to compose and enrich their cultural heritage for future generations.
