The CPIE Littoral Basque offers year-round nature outings to discover marine and coastal biodiversity, with the support of the Communauté d'Agglomération Pays Basque, manager of the Aire Marine Protégée Pays Basque. We'd like to invite you to take a trip aboard the ALBA to discover the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Basque coastline. The ALBA is a 19th century steam-powered sardine boat built by the Chantier Marin de Ciboure, and perpetuated in memory by the "Basque Three-Masted Ship" association. Come and join us on this traditional boat, an emblem of Basque maritime heritage. This outing will focus on plankton. The first link in the food chain and the planet's main oxygen generator, plankton is still revealing all its secrets.
