L'Auberge des Roses

On the edge of the forest on the outskirts of Monein, a village in the heart of the Jurançon ‘appellation contrôlée’ region, the restaurant is just across from the church of St.Girons with its unique roof structure. Quietly located in a typical Béarnaise building, the restaurant has ‘Maître restaurateur’ (‘Master restaurateur’) status. This is awarded to restaurants meeting specific criteria: fresh produce, onsite cooking, quality service and stringent hygiene standards. In sunny weather the flower covered individual terraces come into their own and the semi-gastronomic menu frequently changes. Fish is a speciality.
