Parc Eihartzea - Maison du Poète Francis Jammes

Francis Jammes was a French poet, novelist, playwright and critic who spent most of his life in the Béarn and Basque regions, the main sources of his inspiration. Always in touch with the Parisian literary world, he preserved his originality through his provincial remoteness. Singing with simplicity of plants and beasts, earth and nature, his return to faith, the poet brought a new breath to French poetry. He arrived at Eihartzea in Hasparren in 1921 and lived there until the end of his life in 1938.

He is buried in the left-hand corner of the cemetery. Although his house no longer bears any traces of his life, the park has retained much of his "soul"? Hence the idea of creating this poetic itinerary (13 panels) to rediscover selected pieces in the company of famous visitors who knocked on his door right here.
