Villa gallo-romaine

In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the small village of Lalonquette has been home to an exceptional archaeological site for over fifteen centuries: a Gallo-Roman villa

Discovered in 1843, this villa was the subject of occasional explorations and a first survey of the mosaics was proposed. However, it was not until 1959 and until 1972 that an archaeologist, Jean Lauffray, conducted real archaeological excavations, thus uncovering the remains of this magnificent complex. Archaeological research resumed in 2001. The visit of this site offers an original and playful reading of the remains
