Route N°29b - La Pierre Jacques

Inspired by the circuits of a renowned cyclosportive event, the "Pierre Jacques" is a concentrate of high mountain biking: three major passes, three provinces and over 3000 m of ascent between Béarn, Navarre and the Basque Country. An extraordinary challenge for daring climbers and wheelers.

This is perhaps the apotheosis of a cyclosportive stay in Haut-Béarn, an original challenge for pass collectors, an atypical and colorful cross-border epic. Inspired by the circuits of a renowned cyclosportive event, the "Pierre Jacques" is a large-scale loop between France and Spain. A concentrate of high mountain biking: three major passes at over 1500 m altitude (la Pierre Saint-Martin, Port de Larrau, crêtes d'Issarbe), three provinces (Béarn, Navarre and Soule) and over 3000 m of positive vertical drop. While the physical challenge is undeniable and reserves this circuit for daring climbers and wheelers, the quality of the landscapes crossed is also on the agenda and contributes greatly to the beauty of this loop. How to get there

At Oloron Sainte-Marie, follow the city bypass (D6) towards Saragossa (3.5 t), Huesca. At the Tibet Libre traffic circle, take the D919 towards Aramits. Pass through the villages of Féas and Ance until you enter Aramits. 150 m after the supermarket, turn right to find the small parking lot at Place du Guirail (picnic tables, water point opposite the pharmacy).
