This is an original way to climb the Osquich pass, a medium mountain pass renowned for the quality of its panorama over the Basque Country. If the final part of the ascent is common with the ascent from Mauléon, taking the village of Pagolle as a starting point adds a pinch of difficulty.

This is an original way to climb the Osquich pass, a medium mountain pass renowned for the quality of its panorama over the Basque Country. If the final part of the climb is the same as the climb from Mauléon and Musculdy, taking the village of Pagolle as the starting point adds a pinch of difficulty. Indeed, you will have to face 2.5 km of severe difficulties at the exit of Pagolle, to conclude that, approached from the north, the Osquich pass is not a piece of cake!



How to get there

Leave Saint-Palais (A64 exit no. 7) for Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, on the D933. After 7 km, at the entrance to Uhart-Mixe (fronton), turn left towards Pagolle. Follow the D302 for 9 km to reach Pagolle. Parking lot behind the village pediment.
