De Orthez à la Pau Vélo Fest 2025
A long stage unites the two capitals of Béarn, Orthez the old one, in Pau the new one, by a beautiful varied walk in the valley of the gave of Pau. We start by visiting rural Béarn up to Mourenx, then comes the time to stroll along the banks of the Gave de Pau on a comfortable greenway.
On the occasion of the Pau Vélo Fest 2025, linking the two capitals of Béarn, Orthez the old and Pau the new, by bike, might seem audacious in view of the mileage involved; but this ride turns out to be a beautiful stroll through the valley of the Gave de Pau. The variety of landscapes encountered and the good cyclability of the itinerary mean that the towns and villages stop off one by one without a hitch. From the lakes of the barthes de Biron to the peaceful Geu valley, it's time to stroll along the banks of the Gave de Pau. From Tarsacq to Laroin, a comfortable greenway runs alongside the river. This takes you into the urban area of Pau and on to the exhibition centre, with almost no traffic.
