With a modest distance, very few gradients and rolling paths along the banks of the Gave, this is the easiest circuit in Soule. Add to the menu the discovery of two villages on the Saison plain, their traditional buildings and the work in the fields of agro-pastoral life.
Fancy an easy mountain bike ride in the heart of Soule? Just a few kilometers south of Mauléon, on the left bank of the peaceful Saison valley. The communes of Idaux-Mendy and Menditte have the ideal terrain to offer what is certainly the most family-friendly route you could hope for: very few gradients on the agricultural plain and on the banks of the Gave, rolling paths, quiet back roads and peaceful village centres. Along the way, you'll come across some fine examples of traditional architecture (barns and houses), and even a château! For your viewing pleasure, a circular view of the surrounding hills (including La Madeleine) and, in the distance, the Pic d'Anie massif, important in Basque mythology. A truly tranquil stroll, which you might even consider taking on a summer's evening.
