Starting from the Iraty Cize plateau, this easy route allows hikers to discover part of the Iraty forest. The first half of the loop follows a mountain stream where it is possible to observe the fauna of this natural environment, such as the Pyrenean bog and other amphibians. At the Zurzai pass, the presence of peat bogs justifies the great naturalistic interest of this walk. The hiker will be able to find the drosera, a carnivorous plant characteristic of these natural environments, among other flora species. The second half of the itinerary continues in the Iraty beech forest, another environment just as remarkable for its typical flora and fauna. Back on the Iraty Cize plateau, the walk ends with the discovery of cromlechs, protohistoric remains that bear witness to the very ancient occupation of the Basque mountains.
