Mondarrain et Artzamendi - Trail

Very beautiful hilly and mountainous route, this itinerary is intended for a seasoned public. The length of this hike allows you to take advantage of two very beautiful viewpoints from the summits of Mondarrain and Artzamendi. The discoveries will be all the more numerous with notably the betizu, small wild cows of the Basque Country, or the pottok, manex and blondes of Aquitaine. In addition to these domestic animals, it is a whole fauna and local flora which are to be discovered on this route. Ideally placed at the halfway point, the restaurant Esteben Borda can allow you to eat before starting the second ascent of the day. After the Artzamendi, the descent in a wild valley will delight the hiker before finishing the loop along the very beautiful road that leads to the Pas de Roland. For the more athletic, this route can be considered as a trail.
