This portion of Saint-Jacques is a big stage of ascent in the crossing of the Pyrenees. The villages of Borce, Etsaut and Urdos will allow you to get some food and drink before crossing the border.

This portion of Saint-Jacques is a big climbing stage in the crossing of the Pyrenees. The villages of Borce, Etsaut and Urdos will allow you to refuel or to eat before crossing the border.

Attention, the construction site of securing the route: It is desirable that the hikers, the pilgrims and the cyclists privilege the use of the public transport (bus of the CITRAM) between Bedous and the station of Urdos in order to limit as much as possible the frequentation of the construction site. For information, this work is currently scheduled for 2022 and 2023 with winter interruptions between mid-November and mid-April (requirement formulated by the DIRA).

How to get there

From Pau, head for Oloron Sainte-Marie and Zaragoza via the Somport, on the N134. Follow the Oloron Sainte-Marie bypass all the way to Spain, still on the N134. After the village of Cette-Eygun, pass the gorge and take the first right towards Borce. Park by the church.
