The two communes of Caubios and Loos have been united since 1842. In the 12th century, Caubios would have meant a "bald spot", cleared of trees. Loos indicates a "place of abundant pasture". The church at Caubios dates from 1776, and is dominated by a disproportionately large bell tower, probably once a castle tower. A feudal enclosure with an upstream rampart surrounds the church and the Loos cemetery.
