Bois de Coarraze
It is of these strolls which offer an attractive surprise to the bend of a path. That some wood of Coarraze is a beautiful example. After a pleasant walking on the heights and a through the forest, the pleasure to stumble on a charming place is guaranteed!
The lake of Sargaillouse is a small artificial lake of half a hectare, at the heart of Coarraze Wood. Fed by the Sargaille stream it discharges its overflow into the Lagoin. Nestled in a luxuriant, verdant setting, it represents a complex ecosystem where forest and wetlands cohabit. Here you can find a great number of bird species, such as heron, egret and kingfisher; and a great number of amphibians, including salamanders, newts, frogs and toads. The local fish are rainbow trout, bream, carp and roach. This small lake, stocked with young fish every year, is the perfect place to go fishing with your family and for picnics.
