📍 Hélette

Bizkarra

From the village of Hélette, the route up Baigura is very varied; it leaves the last houses to go through groves and hay meadows, then it discovers the Kurutze cirque, where it offers a very panoramic ridge path with a definite mountain character.

Several routes allow you to reach the summit of Baigura, one of the emblematic peaks of the Basque Country, notably for its exceptional panorama. Starting from the village of Hélette, the ascent is very varied. From the last houses to the nearby groves, it's like going for a walk for an hour, to get some fresh air in the middle of the ferns. And then, as the morning light gilds the slopes of Erregelu or Ursuia, you get caught up in the game of a more ambitious hike, the view of the surrounding valleys becoming more and more beautiful as you get higher. Following a mountain path as close as possible to the ridges, the promontories follow one another and the Erregelu peak, which seemed far away, is now within reach. From its paragliding area, the Baigura is already very close, all that remains is to enjoy the view.
