Bartas d'Etxepette / Etxepetteko bartak

This walk combines freshness and discovery on the banks of the Adour and in the wet forests of the Etchepette barthes. From the fishing port to the bucolic banks of the Ardanavy, it is a real immersion in the very rich ecosystems of the rivers and marshes.

CIRCUIT CLOSED IN THE RAILROAD BRIDGE AREA UNTIL MID-FEBRUARY

This hike, accessible to all, begins on the banks of the Adour, at the old fishing port of Urt. You'll notice its paved slipway with steps to enable boats to be loaded and unloaded whatever the water level of the Adour, subject to the tides. It's a place steeped in history, where salmon and shad fishermen live on. After wandering along the banks of the Adour, the route heads inland, discovering under the trees the Ardanavy river, a secret tributary of the Adour river, and the Etchepette barthes, flooded woods. A sensitive and original natural environment where biodiversity is fully expressed: water irises, water lilies, willows, plane trees and alders, egrets and herons, discreet otters and cistude turtles.
