Réserve Naturelle de Chourroumillas
The Chourroumillas pond is located in the communes of Arcangues and Bassussarry. The name "Chourroumillas" or Chourroumilatch, Xurrumilatx in Basque, means "a thousand little streams of water". In addition to the nearly 2-hectare pond, which forms part of the Nive watershed, and the disused mill, the site boasts a wide range of natural environments: streams and ponds, mesophilous meadows, wet meadows, megaphorbia, oak groves, marshy willows and alder groves.
