Promenade de la Grande Plage

Coming from the Miramar beach, passing at the foot of the Hotel du Palais, former imperial residence, the promenade runs along the beach.

In the 17th century, convinced of the therapeutic virtues of sea bathing, the insane were plunged there, which earned the place the name of "côte des Fous".

It is the postcard beach with its palace transformed into a palace, its striped tents and its children's clubs. Successively called "plage des Fous", then "plage de l'Impératrice", the large beach is the most central beach of the seaside resort, and the most frequented.

One of the largest beaches, it stretches from north to south of the bay between the Hôtel du Palais and the Bellevue.
