La Côte des Basques

Cradle of surfing, beach and promenade in an exceptional setting in Biarritz with a view of the Spanish coast, framed by the cliffs. Numerous surfing events.

Swimming is suspended at high tide, due to lack of access. With a tidal coefficient higher than 45, there is no beach at all. Surfers are advised to get out of the water before the first waves reach the riprap at high tide. Parking above the cliff and access to the beach by laces and stairs or by shuttle in season.

Surveillance 2023:

From 01/05 to 31/05 : Vigil from 1pm to 6pm

From 01/06 to 09/06: Vigilance from 12pm to 7pm

From 10/06 to 30/06: surveillance from 11am to 7pm

From 01/07 to 31/08: surveillance from 10:30am to 7:30pm

From 01/09 to 17/09: surveillance from 11am to 7pm

From 18/09 to 90/09: Vigil from 11am to 6pm
